About the role

Fidelity Enterprise Infrastructure – Mainframe Transaction and Data Management team is seeking a Principal CICS Systems Programmer to provide infrastructure support leadership for the CICS Transaction Server and Data Replication support role. This role supports provisioning and maintaining CICS transaction servers, VSAM data replication, and disaster recovery on z/OS platforms in support of business applications. The position is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining technical infrastructures while providing technical direction and leadership to the team and business partners.

Responsibilities

• Provision, maintain, and enhance CICS transaction server infrastructures on z/OS platforms.
• Demonstrate expert understanding of infrastructure software, including analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem diagnostics, and resolution planning.
• Advise management and peers on technical strategy and solutions.
• Work across groups to identify opportunities for organization-wide technology initiatives.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain CICS, Data Replication, and related products into the z/OS environment.
• Provide technical mentorship and active advisement to other team members and across business partners.
• Lead highly visible projects involving multiple groups and convey project status, ideas, and technical solutions to multiple levels of leadership.
• Communicate effectively and articulate thoughts to your team and other teams across organizations.

Requirements

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in CICS Systems support, proficient with CICS system dumps as well as CICS system internals and CICS interfaces.
• Knowledge in Assembler, COBOL, and/or REXX.
• Expertise with the following: z/OS, CICS, JCL, SMP/E, REXX, Java, VSAM, Control-M, CPSM, VSAM Replication, VSAM RLS, IPCS, CAFC, Abend Aid, and Intertest.

• Proven analytical, diagnostics, and problem-solving skills with a desire to assist others in solving complex technical issues.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong interest in z/OS platform support.
• Highly motivated with the willingness to take ownership and responsibility for work, able to work alone or as part of a team.
• Passionate about working in a team-based agile environment and driving continuous improvement.
• Experienced z/OS Systems Programmer with a desire to stay current with technology.

Schedule

Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $89,000-$180,000 per year. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors. Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
