Duties
- Implementing internal combustion engines knowledge and expertise to develop effective engine and Hardware in Loop (HIL) test methods.
- Analyzing and interpreting control algorithms for engine architecture to improve quality of products and to perform calibration, tuning and testing activities.
- Using problem solving methods such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, or 7 Steps to troubleshoot systems engineering problems.
- Real time testing and decoding experience using at least one communications protocol (CAN, LIN, or TCP/IP) and troubleshooting any related issues.
- Using product lifecycle management tools like Windchill, PTC Integrity, SAP or Teamcenter PLM for review and interpretation of product drawings, wiring diagrams, and architecture diagrams.
- Performing data analysis and using results for the creation, testing, verification, and validation of control/diagnostic features.
Requirements
- Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or related field, and 4 years of experience (gained at any time) in any engineering or technical role which included at least one of the skills listed above.
- Must have experience in all of the following: MATLAB and Simulink; implementing internal combustion engines knowledge and expertise to develop effective engine and Hardware in Loop (HIL) test methods; analyzing and interpreting control algorithms for engine architecture to improve quality of products and to perform calibration, tuning and testing activities; troubleshooting systems engineering problems using problem solving methods (5 Whys, Fishbone, or 7 Steps); real time testing and decoding experience using at least one communications protocol (CAN, LIN, or TCP/IP) and troubleshooting any related issues; product lifecycle management tools (Windchill, PTC Integrity, SAP or Teamcenter PLM); reviewing and interpreting product drawings, wiring diagrams and architecture diagrams; performing data analysis and using results for the creation, testing, verification, and validation of control/diagnostic features.
- In lieu of master’s degree and 4 years of experience, will accept Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or related field, and 6 years of post-bachelor’s, progressive experience in engineering or technical roles which must have included the skills listed above.
