Principal Business Value Consultant

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Business Value Consultant to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. In this remote role, you will shape the strategic value narrative for complex customer engagements and help translate economic evidence into executive‑level decisions. You will partner closely with senior stakeholders, analysts, and cross‑functional teams to strengthen value methodology, improve modeling rigor, and influence business outcomes. This position also plays a key role in advancing AI‑assisted analysis, coaching others, and driving sustainable improvements in how the organization demonstrates value.

Location: Remote – US‑based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available.

Compensation

$231,000 – $340,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Set objectives and plans for critical value engagements.
• Oversee the value methodology, ensuring robust models and benchmark data.
• Act as a thought partner with customer executives and industry analysts, sharing market insights.
• Influence strategic company decisions based on value evidence and economic data.
• Tackle systemic challenges that hinder value delivery and establish sustainable solutions.
• Elevate organizational value fluency through coaching and educational initiatives.
• Guide the organization’s use of AI, ensuring rigorous and defensible modeling.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in procurement, source‑to‑pay, or enterprise finance transformation.
• Proven ownership of strategic business value direction and influence in value engineering or management consulting.
• Expert in building defensible economic models that withstand scrutiny from CFO‑level teams.
• History of influencing senior executives and stakeholders without direct authority.
• Skilled in navigating ambiguous, complex problems across multiple teams.
• Sound judgment regarding AI‑assisted analysis and its applications.
• Track record of fostering growth in others through coaching and quality improvements.
