Legend Biotech is a global biotechnology company dedicated to treating and, one day, curing life‑threatening diseases. Headquartered in Bridgewater, New Jersey, the company advances next‑generation cell therapy through autologous, allogeneic, and in‑vivo approaches, including CAR‑T, TCR‑T, NK‑cell therapies, and other emerging platforms.

Role Overview

This position supports translational strategies across pipeline development programs. The Principal Bioinformatician will lead computational analyses that integrate multi‑modality clinical and biomarker datasets to enable mechanism‑of‑action understanding, patient stratification, pharmacodynamic assessment, and other translational decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform translational biomarker analysis using multi‑modality and multi‑omics assays such as bulk and single‑cell RNA‑seq, TCR/BCR‑seq, WGS/WES, amplicon‑seq, ATAC‑seq, ctDNA/liquid biopsy, proteomics, cytokine profiling, spatial and multiplex imaging, and flow cytometry/CyTOF.
  • Support biomarker discovery and validation, identifying pharmacodynamic, predictive, prognostic, and response biomarkers; integrate biomarker data with clinical outcomes, PK/PD measurements, and safety for patient stratification and mechanism‑of‑action hypotheses.
  • Build and maintain reproducible, scalable bioinformatics pipelines in cloud or high‑performance computing environments.
  • Contribute to translational data‑infrastructure and data‑governance strategies.
  • Ensure analysis reproducibility, traceability, and documentation compliance.
  • Partner closely with translational scientists, clinical development, research, CMC teams, CROs, and collaborators to translate complex computational findings into biologically meaningful insights.
  • Contribute to regulatory documentation for biomarker sections of INDs, IBs, clinical study reports, and regulatory briefing documents.
  • Make decisions related to methodologies, project execution, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation within budget (higher‑level approvals required for major technical, financial, or strategic decisions).

Requirements

  • PhD (5+ years) or MS (8+ years) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, Systems Biology, or related quantitative biological sciences.
  • Strong expertise in bioinformatics and statistics with a biological training background; experience in translational research in oncology, immunology, or autoimmune disease; gene and cell therapy involvement is a plus.
  • Proficiency in R and/or Python programming, Linux/Unix environments, and workflow management systems (e.g., Snakemake, Nextflow, WDL); experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) preferred.
  • Advanced training and deep understanding of biological science to translate complex disease and therapy questions into data‑driven solutions.

Pay

Base Pay Range: $146,410 – $192,164 USD. Additional compensation may include performance‑based bonus and/or equity for eligible roles.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match that vests fully on day one.
  • Eight weeks of paid parental leave after three months of employment.
  • Paid time off policy covering vacation, personal, sick time, floating holidays, and eleven company holidays.
  • Voluntary benefits: flexible spending and health‑savings accounts, life and AD&D insurance, short‑ and long‑term disability, legal assistance, and supplemental plans (pet, critical illness, accident, hospital indemnity).
  • Voluntary commuter benefits, family‑planning and care resources, well‑being initiatives, and peer‑to‑peer recognition programs.
  • Benefits are offered exclusively to permanent full‑time employees; contractors are not eligible.

Work Authorization & Employment Eligibility

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Employment eligibility will be verified through the E‑Verify program and the Form I‑9 process.
