No C2C or 3rd Parties *** SummaryThe Ash Group is hiring a Principal Attorney (24566) for our client, a global leader providing advanced systems and support in defense, aerospace, and security. This is a 4-month contract position working in Falls Church, VA (preferred) but will consider remote candidates. We are offering a pay rate up to $77 per hour W2 based on skill set and location. Role DetailsCompensation: Up to $77/hr W2Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and direct primary care benefits. After six months of employment, enjoy a 4% matched 401(k) plan with immediate 100% vesting.Duration: 4-month contractLocation: Falls Church, VA (preferred) but will consider remote candidates Senior Manager or Principal Attorney, Global Trade Compliance, supporting the Global Trade Compliance team in reviewing businesses to assess compliance with export and import regulations, investigating non‑compliance, and preparing disclosures. The role requires advanced trade compliance experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a matrixed environment. Key ResponsibilitiesReview businesses to assess compliance with export and import regulations.Investigate non‑compliance matters and prepare detailed disclosures.Draft and analyze findings, conduct interviews, and summarize results.Research relevant regulations and prepare correspondence to U.S. government agencies.Manage internal investigations and assist with voluntary disclosure processes.Perform compliance tasks, data calls, and reporting requirements.Maintain accurate record‑keeping and file management systems.Participate in working groups and continuous improvement projects.Develop and implement processes and procedures within budget and schedule constraints.Provide training on trade compliance policies and procedures.Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.Accept additional duties as assigned. QualificationsBachelor’s degree and 8 years of export control experience (investigations) OR Master’s degree and 6 years OR JD and 4+ years in export compliance investigations.Prior experience as an Empowered Official in the defense industry.Proficiency with OCR EMS export management software.Strong written and verbal communication skills at all organizational levels.Ability to work independently and within a team in a matrixed environment.Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage shifting priorities.Sound judgment and decision‑making while complying with policies and laws.Experience developing and implementing processes and procedures within budget and schedule constraints.Discretion and independent judgment in delegated duties.Ability to conduct interviews, analyze issues, and draft findings and summaries.Proactive, self‑motivated, and team‑player mindset.Willingness to accept additional duties as assigned.
