Principal Associate, Supplier Management
About the role

As a Principal Associate, Supplier Management, you will be responsible for the holistic relationship between Capital One and key third parties, enabling a well-managed and adaptable supply chain. You will work closely with internal team members establishing and maintaining relationships with internal business customers and assigned suppliers. This role is essential in the delivery of key cost, risk, and performance management-related efforts for third-party relationships, in addition to supporting the identification of strategic opportunities for growth and/or greater return on investment.
Responsibilities
- Support the creation and execution of strategic and innovative solutions to support internal customers that can identify value-generating opportunities (e.g., savings, efficiencies, or revenue growth).
- Negotiate basic contracts for a broad range of products and services for Capital One.
- Serve as a point of contact for third parties and manage effective governance between Capital One and assigned third parties.
- Partner with business unit(s) and internal risk group(s) to ensure third-party relationships are compliant with all relevant policies and procedures.
- Monitor and ensure successful delivery against third-party contractual obligations.
- Accountable for policy requirements for all managed third-party relationships; plan and lead periodic reviews and assessments of supplier relationships.
- Maintain awareness of the external marketplace as it relates to your suppliers and perform basic sourcing activities where appropriate.
Note: Limited travel may be required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Certification
- At least 3 years of experience in Relationship Management, Supplier Management, Procurement, Project Management, Process Management, or a combination
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or military experience
- At least 4 years of experience in Procurement, Sourcing, Operations Management, or Risk Management

Pay
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on the agreed-upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
- McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900
- Richmond, VA: $109,900 - $125,400
- Anytown, IL: $109,900 - $125,400
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long-term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
