Description

The Principal Architect will lead the architectural design and strategy for Baggage Scanning suite applications. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design, implementation, deployment, and maintenance of applications.
  • Collaborating with other architects and cross-functional teams to build resilient and performant applications.
  • Guiding the team on best practices in building large-scale systems.
  • Mentoring and coaching others in architecture and engineering.
  • Developing and managing a technical strategy and coordinating its adoption.
  • Managing the architecture review process and providing domain-specific guidance.
  • Implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and observability tools.
  • Conducting research and developing Proof of Concepts on emerging technologies.
  • Researching, enforcing, and driving the adoption of design patterns throughout the enterprise.
  • Identifying new technologies and industry trends, recommending technologies that are functionally robust and cost-effective.
  • Leading and influencing the design, testing, evaluation, implementation, and support for technologies and R&D POCs.
  • Optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing follow-up on all issues and solutions.
  • Leading diagnostics and troubleshooting with the production support team during outages/incidents.
  • Defining the product technical roadmap, prioritization, and effort estimation with product owners, business, and platform architects.
  • Supporting pilots for emerging technologies and guiding their transition into scalable, supported production environments.
  • Developing documentation to support the application and establish common practices across the platform.
  • Partnering with platform engineering and DevOps teams to research, design, and implement the appropriate technology needed to support the automation and orchestration strategy.
  • Partnership with the Enterprise architecture, network, and security engineering team to ensure that the architectural principals support the requirements and needs of the application as well as the enterprise.
  • Communicating regularly and effectively with senior technology leadership.
  • Coordinating efforts across multiple teams like Release Managers, DevOps Engineers, QA, UX designers for a successful delivery of applications.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, and observability tools.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices, including vulnerability management and mitigation.
  • Proficient in data architecture, governance, and security, with experience in both relational and non-relational databases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, with a strong background in managing complex enterprise applications and infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of AWS experience.
  • 2+ years of Android Mobile Solution Experience.
  • Experience with cloud platform like AWS, GCP and serverless technologies, services and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes etc.) or similar.
  • Full-stack application management in AWS cloud native technologies like such as EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, Lambda, AmazonMQ, API Gateway, DynamoDB etc., and high level network and hardware integration.
  • Experience implementing/deploying microservices, web services and APIs, gateways, service mesh in highly automated CI/CD environments.
  • Experience in Well-Architected frameworks, application performance tuning, application resilience and reliability improvement.
  • Experience in developing large scale responsive web applications across multiple end user devices.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and support during critical system outages for operationally critical applications.
  • Familiarity with GenAI, agentic technologies, automation platforms, and AI tools.
  • Coordination of efforts across multiple teams like Release Managers, DevOps Engineers, QA, UX designers for a successful delivery of applications.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, and observability tools (Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk).
  • Solid understanding of security best practices, including vulnerability management and mitigation.
  • Proficient in data architecture, governance, and security, with experience in both relational and non-relational databases.

Pay Range

The base pay range for this role is $140,600.00 to $183,108.00. The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
