Principal Architect - AI

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Architect - AI to join the team of a leader in the Energy & Utilities space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Energy & Utilities environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture strategy for large Azure programs ensuring alignment with client goals
• Define modernization blueprints to enhance delivery and operational efficiency
• Translate business strategy into actionable cloud architecture roadmaps
• Guide architecture decisions promoting shared designs and reusable patterns
• Provide oversight during delivery, aligning cross-cutting concerns across teams
• Promote modern engineering practices such as CI/CD and modular design
• Mentor and develop team members to enhance their architectural and leadership skills

Qualifications

• 12+ years experience in solutions delivery at enterprise scale
• 7+ years in solution architecture and leading engineering teams
• Expertise in enterprise-wide AI/ML adoption strategies
• Proficient in Azure AI services, Databricks, and modern data platforms
• Strong ability to integrate AI frameworks into enterprise solutions

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $176,200 – $264,300 annually
