Principal Antenna Test Engineer

About the role

This is a 1st shift position within Northrop Grumans Mission Systems Sector Test Engineering organization. The role involves antenna test equipment design, integration of new equipment and programs, test software and test equipment design, and troubleshooting RF issues during the test of advanced antenna systems.

Responsibilities

• Antenna test equipment design in support of factory phased array testing
• Integrate new equipment and programs in a state-of-the-art facility
• Test software and test equipment design related to phased array testing
• Software development for automating test processes and data analysis
• Troubleshoot RF issues during test of advanced antenna systems
• Support technicians with troubleshooting and training
• Analyze test data and identify early trends
• Support program meetings in developing root cause and corrective actions
• Collaborate with design engineering for hardware and test improvements
• Maintain sensitivity to cost, schedule and quality as well as Northrop Grumman policies and procedures

Requirements

• Antenna Test Engineer 3: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline plus 5+ or more years of relevant experience; or 3+ years with a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline
• Experience with electrical and/or RF test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, power meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, etc.
• Professional software development experience using languages such as C#, Visual Basic, MATLAB, Mate, etc.
• Professional experience with test equipment design, preferably RF and electronics test equipment design.
• Current, active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
• U.S. citizenship

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline
• Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline
• Experience with electrical and/or RF test equipment
• Professional software development experience
• RF and antenna test/range experience
• Familiarity with RF and antenna theory

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $108,800.00 - $163,200.00. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
