As an Analytics Specialist Solutions Architect, you will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) helping customers leverage AWS services to solve their most challenging business problems. AWS Solution Architects are well-respected and highly-visible, partnering across the company to own the customer’s technical experience. You will work directly with customers' technical and business leaders, joining forces with Account Managers, Business Development, and Service Teams to enable customer adoption and growth.

The Area Specialist Team consists of deep domain experts who work directly with customers to solve complex challenges. We are part of the Account Team, responsible for account planning, opportunity identification, and pursuit. We stay closely connected to our customers and bring valuable data and insights to our product teams, strengthening the product roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customers with deep technical expertise in your domain to advance adoption of AWS products in service to customer goals.
  • Collaborate with specialist, sales, marketing, and product teams to ideate around customers’ most challenging business problems.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to line of business and C-suite leaders.
  • Lead architectural reviews and workshops to advance your customer’s technical objectives.
  • Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and public-speaking events like AWS Summit and AWS re:Invent.
  • Participate as a leader in AWS technical communities.
  • Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
  • Provide data and anecdotes on what is working and what is not back to the larger specialist community and product teams.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for urgent customer issues in your technical specialty.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent.
  • Experience developing technology solutions and evangelizing end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing.
  • Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, and publications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of large-scale automation and workflow management or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of database design and implementation or equivalent.
  • Strong presentation and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers.
  • Experience architecting, migrating, transforming, or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud.

Pay

The base salary range for this position varies by location:

  • East Palo Alto, CA: $210,200 - $284,300 USD annually
  • Atlanta, GA: $182,800 - $247,300 USD annually
  • Chicago, IL: $182,800 - $247,300 USD annually
  • Boston, MA: $182,800 - $247,300 USD annually
  • New York, NY: $201,000 - $272,000 USD annually
  • Dallas, TX: $182,800 - $247,300 USD annually
  • Arlington, VA: $182,800 - $247,300 USD annually
  • Herndon, VA: $182,800 - $247,300 USD annually

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
