About the Role
Join the Advanced Power Systems group within the Power and Energy business line as part of a team developing PMICs (Power Management Integrated Circuits) for automotive and industrial applications. The role involves architecting next-generation PMIC designs and leading them through development stages until production.
Key Challenges & Responsibilities
- Define IC architecture and lead technical execution from design, verification, and validation of mixed-signal PMICs for automotive and industrial applications, ensuring deliverables meet performance, quality, reliability, and safety requirements.
- Create and maintain IC architecture based on product and system requirement specifications, partitioning it into subsystem and interface specifications for automotive and industrial power management solutions.
- Lead analog design aspects of product development, including architecture definition, circuit implementation, and validation for high-performance PMICs.
- Design and develop analog and mixed-signal circuits for DC-DC converters, including error amplifiers, voltage and current references, compensation networks, current sensing circuits, protection circuits, gate drivers, startup circuits, and power sequencing functions.
- Ensure compliance with automotive and industrial standards, addressing power efficiency, robustness, functional safety, thermal performance, and long-term reliability.
- Collaborate with digital, system, validation, and application teams to deliver scalable power management solutions for automotive and industrial customers.
- Align with customers and product definers to set appropriate product targets for PMIC solutions.
- Support test and quality teams during product development to ensure robust performance, reliability, and compliance.
- Work with team members to build design knowledge and continuously improve PMIC development methodologies.
Qualifications
- MSEE required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the development of mixed-signal ICs, with at least 5 years as an architect or technical leader.
- Familiarity with integrated circuit electronics, including device-level physics, analog systems, and transistor-level circuit design.
- Experience with power management designs is highly desirable.
- Expertise in DC-DC architecture and design.
- Proficiency with Cadence design tools: Virtuoso, Spectre, AMS, etc.
- Creative thinker with a broad perspective, capable of solving complex problems.
- Strong communication skills in both oral and written English.
- Team player able to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
