About the role
Alpha is opening a new campus in Springfield, MA and is seeking a leader to oversee the launch and operation of the campus. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Springfield, MA education landscape and experience building and managing teams.
Responsibilities
Launch our Springfield, MA campus: Execute Alpha's three core promises for 100+ students from day one with excellence across all operational dimensions.
Facilitate live workshops with K-8 students on life skills: Lead one-hour sessions covering public speaking, growth mindset, and feedback skills. Use Alpha's established playbook to ensure students develop competencies traditional schools overlook while staying engaged.
Drive every student to achieve 100% of their goals: Create personalized motivational strategies for each student. Apply data-informed methods to address resistance and sustain engagement with the Alpha platform. Success is defined by every student meeting their targets.
Develop Guides through coaching and uphold Alpha's quality standards: Leverage data to spot performance shortfalls, provide concrete feedback, and monitor progress. Make difficult personnel decisions when standards aren't met and set the example as your campus's quality benchmark.
Execute data-driven leadership decisions campus-wide: Review metrics across staff performance, operations, parent engagement, and culture. Identify issues, perform root cause analysis, engage stakeholders, and implement measurable solutions. Document every decision and refine based on outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related field. Master's preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, business, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience building and managing teams of at least 15 people with full hiring and firing authority.
- Deep knowledge of the Springfield, MA education landscape. Experience working with youth ages 5 - 14.
- Strong data analysis skills and experience using metrics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Passion for transforming education. Belief that the traditional system is fundamentally broken.
- Startup mindset: thrives under pressure, adaptable in new situations, comfortable building systems from scratch.
- Compelling and energetic speaker who commands attention from rooms full of students or staff.
- Able to relate to K-8 students, understand their interests and culture, and serve as a positive role model.
