Principal AI Engineer

About the role

Lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will collaborate across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions, influencing architecture, execution quality, and long-term technology capabilities in a healthcare environment.

Location: Remote (US-based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available).

Responsibilities

• Architect and build Python/FastAPI backends for enterprise integration
• Develop Next.js/React frontends incorporating security protocols
• Design multi-agent coordination systems for workflow orchestration
• Implement enterprise integrations navigating complex security tools
• Maintain a comprehensive testing suite to ensure quality before deployment
• Utilize CI/CD processes to deploy applications multiple times per day
• Provide mentorship through code reviews and hands-on pairing sessions

Qualifications

• 8+ years building production systems end-to-end (backend, frontend, integrations, infrastructure)
• Experience as Staff/Principal Engineer or Tech Lead managing technical decisions
• Proven track record of shipping SaaS products with OAuth2 and enterprise compliance
• In-depth knowledge of AI/ML production systems using LLM APIs
• Proficient in Python (FastAPI) and TypeScript (React) for production environments
• Experienced with AWS and Kubernetes for application deployment and management
• Strong communication skills for engaging non-technical stakeholders

Pay

$175,000 – $200,000 annually
