About the role

We are seeking a Principal AI Architect to lead our AI initiatives in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications sector. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in AI and machine learning, a proven track record of delivering innovative AI solutions, and a passion for leveraging AI to drive significant business outcomes.

Responsibilities

Formulate technical solution designs and lead conversations for TMT clients.
Understand client needs and architect tailored AI solutions.
Conduct workshops and design sessions to simplify complex sales cycles.
Ensure the smooth integration of AI and data platforms into clients' technology ecosystems.
Lead technical and non-technical members to drive successful delivery of professional services.
Architect complex and multi-layered AI systems, ensuring scalability, resilience, and transformative outcomes.
Leverage cloud-native architectures for optimal data management and analytics.
Conduct technical deep-dive sessions to extract nuanced AI requirements and design robust execution plans.
Design for and enforce AI governance frameworks addressing ethical considerations, regulatory compliance, and security.
Utilize cutting-edge AI methodologies, including computer vision and advanced NLP, to deliver tangible improvements in client operations.
Translate complex analytical findings into actionable insights for C-suite stakeholders using advanced data visualization techniques.
Drive the technical growth of AI Engineers and Data Scientists, instilling best practices in software engineering, algorithm optimization, and systems integration.
Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies and methodologies to maintain a competitive edge in the firm's service offerings.
Orchestrate the execution of AI projects with precision, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, deadlines, and quality benchmarks.
Maintain an expert-level understanding of industry-specific trends and technology advancements to inform strategic solution architecture.
Cultivate excellence within AI project teams, promoting a culture of technical rigor and collaborative problem-solving.
Strategize and steer business development activities, forming enduring client partnerships through the delivery of impactful AI-driven solutions.

Requirements

8-10 years’ experience in industry or technology consulting.
Deep knowledge of AI disciplines, including machine learning, deep learning, NLP, speech-to-text, computer vision, etc.
Exceptionally proficient in advanced Python programming for AI.
Hands-on experience with stable and evolving AI frameworks and design patterns.
Deployed AI models in production.
Demonstrated leadership in guiding teams to design, test, deploy, and refine AI models, incorporating MLOps and AIOps practices.
Practical knowledge of AI governance principles and implementation methodologies within AI pipelines and solutions.
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
A valid driver’s license in the US; willingness and ability to travel to meet client needs.
Extensive experience in telecommunications sector, with a strong understanding of industry trends.
Experience with Telecom customer lifecycle, network management, customer segmentation, churn prediction, and recommendation systems tailored to media and telecommunications.
Understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations specific to the TMT sector.
Experience with OSS/BSS systems, implementation, enhancement, maintenance, and support.
Familiarity with telecommunications protocols (e.g., 5G, LTE, fiber) and their implications for data science.
Proven ability to design and implement machine learning solutions that enhance network performance and customer experience.
Experience analyzing large-scale datasets from telecommunications networks, including call detail records and performance metrics.

Qualifications

BS in STEM with a significant focus on AI, Computer Science, Data Science, or ML.
MS in AI, Data Science, or ML preferred.

Pay

The base salary range for this role in all geographic locations in the US is $144,000 to $329,100. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento) is $172,800 to $374,000. Individual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.

Schedule

Our expectation is for most people in external, client-serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project, or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you'll decide how much vacation time you need based on your personal circumstances. You'll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
