About the Role
As a Registered Nurse, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental requirements and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will serve as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers while supporting the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.
- Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and anticipating patient needs proactively.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, patient status, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures using clear, non-technical language.
- Educate patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy lifestyle changes, disease prevention, and self-management.
- Prepare patients and families for future self-management.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
- Current RN license in Virginia or a compact multistate license.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
