Primary Therapist (Licensed or Non-Licensed)
Job Summary
The Primary Therapist is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and facilitating various therapeutic modalities, including individual, family, and group therapies. This role requires effective communication with families and collaboration with the treatment team to ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical support within Newport Healthcare’s framework.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Serve as the primary clinical contact for families, maintaining proactive and clear communication regarding the client’s progress and treatment.
Congduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions utilizing Newport Healthcare’s clinical model and Attachment-Based Family Therapy principles. Lead Family Orientations, Welcome Presentations, and Family Support Groups to engage and educate families about the treatment process.
Complete risk assessments and initial safety plans upon client admission. Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop comprehensive treatment plans within established timelines. Collaborate with the treatment team to coordinate treatment goals and services, including 30-day treatment plan reviews and updates.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, group notes, contact notes, and discharge summaries, adhering to established standards.
Conduct risk or crisis assessments and provide appropriate intervention and management as necessary to ensure client safety and well-being.
Attend and actively participate in weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision to enhance team dynamics and treatment efficacy.
Accurately enter and save data using Microsoft Word, Outlook (email and calendaring), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and online learning platforms.
Represent Newport Healthcare at meetings, trainings, and conferences as needed, promoting the organization’s mission and values.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field or enrollment in Doctorate program from an accredited or state approved graduate school required.
Licensed or ability to transfer license in Marriage Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or Clinical Psychologist in the state in which services are provided.
Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents.
Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment preferred.
