Primary Therapist

POSITION SUMMARY: The Primary Therapist provides individual, group, and family therapy, crisis intervention services, psychoeducation presentations, and experiential learning groups for clients and their families.

Essential Duties

• Provides clinical services including individual, group, and family therapy along with process groups, psychoeducational groups, and crisis intervention services.
• Provides psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, individual therapy notes, and discharge summaries.
• Works closely with the treatment team including case managers, psychiatric nurse practitioners, the clinical director, and business development.
• Completes clinical documentation promptly in line with state, insurance, and joint commission regulations.
• Attends staff training and meetings as required by the employer.

Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in counseling, social work, or psychology required.
• Experience working with addictions and mental health diagnoses.
• Ability to use a variety of counseling interventions including CBT, DBT, ACT, Family Systems, etc.
• The understanding of an array of theories and models of addiction and mental illness.
• Knowledge of philosophies, practices, and outcomes of different treatment models.
• Understanding of relapse prevention through the continuum of care.
• Understanding of dually diagnosed populations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Credentialing: CPR/First Aid Certification.
