About the role

As a Level II Machine Operator, you'll be part of our manufacturing team, producing fluid-system components that meet the highest quality standards. This role is ideal for an entry-level machinist who is eager to learn, can work independently, maintain high production standards, and recognize when additional support is needed while prioritizing safety. You’ll receive all necessary tools and gauges to succeed and will work in a clean, modern, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Swagelok’s production system, including participating in daily shift start-up meetings and providing or receiving shift handoff reports.
  • Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment according to standard work instructions.
  • Follow standard work instructions and quality plans to meet specifications.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, ring gauges, dial indicators, smart gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Monitor machine outputs and identify quality, machining, tooling, or process issues, escalating to support associates to resume production.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and routine machine care.
  • Document production activities accurately and maintain manufacturing records.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic math skills, including adding and subtracting fractions and decimals.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Machining experience or mechanical background (preferred).
  • Experience in a manufacturing production environment (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime hours as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and stooping.
  • Lifting materials weighing 25–35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Working safely around manufacturing equipment.
  • Passing required vision acuity testing, where applicable.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.40–$25.80 per hour, with additional compensation through overtime and a 10% shift differential for off-shifts. Starting pay is based on skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule

24/7 days (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM), with shifts starting between 5:45 AM and 6:00 PM.
