Description

- Follows up on and evaluates staff performance and provides feedback to the unit manager on issues or exemplary practice
- Determines unit priorities for shift with regard to patient care, patient flow, staffing, and distribution interrelated with acuity and staff competency levels
- Adjusts patient care assignment based on patient needs/acuities, staff competencies, skill mix, patient flow requirements, and staffing matrix
- Facilitates staff breaks before end of shift
- Serves as liaison between other nursing departments to expedite admissions/transfers; receives report and facilitates transition
- Takes a patient assignment as needed and provides meal and break relief coverage
- Ensures nursing coverage meets the staffing matrix and ratio standards
- Assists in the promotion of professional growth and development by attending all mandatory courses, classes, inservices, functions as a clinical expert and resource while on the unit
- Provides in the moment coaching and modeling of effective problem-solving, conflict resolution, communication, and team-building skills and maintains a harmonious and collaborative atmosphere on the unit
- Applies the nursing process to develop a plan of care for the bariatric surgery patient including patient education for preoperative and postoperative care and expected outcomes of care
- Focuses on providing safe and compassionate care to bariatric patients seeking treatment and ensures that proper equipment and furniture are available to meet the needs of the patients and their families
Education
- Degree Program: Bachelors in Nursing
Experience
- Number of Years Experience: 22 years in your area of practice
Licenses / Certifications
- Registered Nurse License
- ACLS Certification
- Certification in area of specialty
Compensation Range
$62.35 - $83.19/ Hour
