About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Technical Designer for our women’s division to join our growing team. In this role, you will lead our tech design and fit efforts for our Women’s Intimates, Swim, and Maternity business. Success in this role means making fit, comfort, and functionality a true competitive advantage for Quince, directly driving revenue through improved customer satisfaction and repeat purchase behavior.

The Senior Technical Designer will assess and evolve our fit standards and processes to ensure we are consistently delivering the right fit and support for our most important customers across intimate apparel, swimwear, and maternity categories. This role will partner closely with internal and external global teams to develop and implement fit blocks, evaluate samples, recommend revisions, and move products through pre-production approval in collaboration with merchandising, sourcing, and product development. The ultimate goal is to reduce returns, increase repeat customer rates, improve comfort and consistency, and enable faster, more scalable product development as the business grows.

Responsibilities

• Build fit blocks for key styles that can be utilized as a starting point for future garment development.
• Manage the fit process from 1st Proto to Bulk production.
• Develop, maintain, and update technical specification packages for all styles, ensuring accuracy and consistency by category.
• Spec garments, conduct fit sessions, and create detailed fit comments for vendors.
• Collaborate with technical design teams globally to build fit processes that can be consistently maintained by teammates abroad.
• Work directly with merchandising teams to maintain quality and consistency across all products while incorporating feedback based on customer and sales data.
• Evaluate digital patterns and make revisions and recommendations to perfect the fit, support, comfort, and functionality of garments.
• Sketch detailed flats and leverage Google Sheets and our internal Product Catalog for communication with internal teams and external teammates.
• Ensure all garments align with company standards for fit, construction, quality, support, and comfort.
• Troubleshoot and provide solutions for pattern, grading, and construction issues as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8+ years as a technical designer or in a related role.
• Comprehensive understanding of pattern making, garment construction, grading, and fit standards for intimates, swimwear, and/or maternity apparel.
• Experience working with stretch fabrics, support structures, bras, swim construction, and fit-sensitive garments preferred.
• Software proficiency in pattern making software and Google Sheets preferred.
• Exceptional accuracy in creating and reviewing technical specifications.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Creative and resourceful in addressing technical challenges.
• May be required to travel internationally to vendors as needed.

• Standing and walking throughout the entirety of your shift
• Ability to go up and down stairs, use of ladders throughout the day as needed
• Bending, twisting, or kneeling may be required throughout the day for lifting or maneuvering objects
• May be asked to work outside or travel to shoots off-site as needed

Pay

Pay Range: $120—$140 USD per year. This role works onsite 5 days per week in our San Francisco office. Bonus and equity may also be provided for eligible roles.
