Primary Care Sales Consultant Striker - Cardiorenal - North Shore, IL

The Primary Care Sales Consultant Striker (SC) is accountable for implementing sales strategies for an approved Cardiorenal product, adhering to Bayer’s compliance standards and all applicable legal requirements. This role targets key Health Care Providers (HCPs) and hospital systems within an assigned territory, reporting to the CVR Area General Manager (AGM). You will collaborate closely with Marketing, Market Access, Patient Services, and other internal partners to drive US Pharma outcomes. The territory spans Elgin, IL, to the North Shore, with up to 50% travel required. The position is residence-based, and the candidate must live within the territory.
Responsibilities
- Build and develop professional relationships with primary care, nephrology, endocrinology, pharmacy staff, and other assigned customers.
- Drive appropriate utilization of approved cardiovascular and menopause products.
- Work closely with the Customer Squad to generate pull-through within local payers and community HCPs.
- Leverage expertise in the diabetes and menopause marketplace, competitors, industry trends, and cross-functional activities to manage business opportunities and challenges.
- Provide relevant input to commercial colleagues (e.g., sales leadership, regional account managers) for strategic and tactical planning.
- Develop and implement customer-specific business plans; communicate insights to internal stakeholders.
- Prioritize time and effort to ensure optimal coverage of physician specialists based on opportunity and potential.
- Understand assigned customers’ product and business needs while adhering to Bayer’s ethics and compliance standards.
- Anticipate potential barriers to goal achievement and propose responsible solutions.
- Handle customer objections effectively and exceed expectations by demonstrating value to physicians.
- Occasionally train others in the region by sharing exemplary skills.
- Leverage emerging technologies to enhance performance and continuously improve proficiency.
- Understand and comply with pharmaceutical industry guidelines, regulations, and ethical standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of relevant sales experience in competitive landscapes (in lieu of a degree).
- Proven track record of consistent high performance in sales or other relevant experience.
- Proven ability to develop long-standing customer relationships.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership in fostering ethical behavior and compliance with company policies and laws.
- Ability to comply with customer credentialing and safety requirements (e.g., up-to-date vaccinations, trainings).
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree.
- 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, particularly in primary care and specialty.
- In-depth knowledge of cardiovascular, diabetes, and/or menopause disease states.
- Product launch experience.
- Strong analytical and computer capabilities.
- Virtual sales experience.
- Strong local relationships with HCPs and understanding of the local market.
Pay
Employees can expect a salary between $120,960.00 and $181,440.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission.
