Primary Care Physician Assistant (Regular FT)

About the role

This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until August 14, 2026. The initial cut-off date for referrals of eligible applications will be June 14, 2026 with subsequent cut-off dates every month. Eligible applications received after that date will be accepted on an ongoing basis and qualified candidates will be considered as vacancies become available.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care and preventative care to an established panel of primary care patients, under the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model.
• Deliver care to the Veteran population with diseases consistent to those seen in the general population, including acute and chronic illness, women's health, gender-specific, mental health, and preventive care, along with coordination of care delivery.
• Function as a leader in the PACT approach in the delivery of care, emphasizing a team-based approach to healthcare. Participate in weekly team meetings and provide innovative management ideas for patient case reviews.
• Duties include, but are not limited to, history taking, physical examination, ordering appropriate labs, diagnostic tests, and consultations needed.
• Formulate multi-disciplinary treatment plans.
• Perform medication reconciliation.
• Document all medical information in an electronic medical record.

Qualifications

• Physician Assistant Basic Requirements: Master's degree in any discipline or a bachelor's degree in any discipline with one year of experience as a Physician Assistant ~AND~ Successfully passed the PA National Certifying Exam (PANCE) (or are you in the process to taking the exam) ~AND~ Currently hold, or will hold, a full and unrestricted license to practice in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia.
• Preferred Experience: At least one year of clinical experience, characterized by strong history and physical assessment assignments.
