About the role

We serve the health care needs of the people of Memphis and the Mid-South. This role involves collaborating with physician sponsors to lead a clinical care team and act as a change agent for a specific patient population. The Advanced Practice Nurse will provide clinical expertise, lead education and research initiatives, and demonstrate leadership in achieving organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provides advanced level of direct and indirect care to individual patients/families and/or groups of patients/families in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Establishes staff education programs to address the specific needs of populations of patients.
  • Demonstrates collaborative leadership with researchers, other health professionals, divisions, and departments to generate knowledge and make practice changes based on research findings and quality improvement processes.
  • Leads efforts to meet system, organizational, division, and departmental goals.
  • Demonstrates accountability for professional responsibilities and self-development.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Advanced Practice Nursing
  • Tennessee Board of Nursing certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse
  • American Nurses Credentialing Center certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  • BASIC LIFE SUPPORT from the American Heart Association
  • Registered Nurse license from Tennessee
  • Preferred certifications in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care, Psychiatric-Mental Health, School, Emergency, Family, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care, Adult-Psychiatric-Mental Health, Women's Health Care, Gerontological, Adult, Emergency, Family, and/or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Qualifications

  • General nursing of clinical practice at the RN level with 3-5 years of experience
  • Proven ability to apply advanced concepts, principles, and professional techniques in a specialized field of nursing
  • Experience in leading staff education programs and research initiatives
  • Leadership skills in meeting system, organizational, division, and departmental goals
