Primary Care Mental Health CPN - MALE ONLY
About the role
The Uists and Barra Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) is seeking a Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (Male Only) to provide mental health support to adults in primary care settings. The role is permanent and located in Benbecula.
Responsibilities
- Offer interventions to adults with common mental health problems within Primary Care and crossover into Secondary Care
- Mental health screening assessments
- Risk assessment
- Medication monitoring
- Telephone triage
- Signposting and brief intervention
- Support the Community Psychiatric Nurse Team Out of Hours Service (On average, 1 week in every 4 weeks)
Requirements
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration
- Full Driving Licence
Qualifications
The role requires a full understanding of mental health principles and practices, as well as the ability to work effectively in a remote and rural setting.

Benefits
The role offers a competitive salary range of £43,231 - £52,679 per annum, plus a Distant Islands Allowance of £1,461 per annum. The position is permanent and includes relocation expenses.
Pay
The starting salary for this role is £43,231 per annum, with the potential to progress up to £52,679 per annum based on experience and performance.
Schedule
The role is 36 hours per week, with a permanent team base in Benbecula.
