About the Role

We are seeking a Primary Care Clinician (MD or DO) for a 1099 contract role to join our soon-to-open Boston, MA clinic as part of an interdisciplinary team delivering personalized, compassionate, high-quality care for individuals with severe mental illness. This role will deliver care in a clinic owned and operated by Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and requires an on-site commitment of approximately 4–5 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments, diagnose medical conditions, and manage acute and chronic illnesses while considering their impact on mental health.
• Prescribe and manage medications, ensuring safe and effective use, while considering potential interactions with psychiatric medications.
• Perform routine physical examinations and preventive health screenings, integrating findings with mental health care plans.
• Educate members on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records and documentation integrated with mental health care plans.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and attend regular team meetings.
• Uphold Amae Health's commitment to providing compassionate, holistic, and culturally sensitive care.

Requirements

• MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Massachusetts.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related primary care specialty.
• Previous experience working independently as a primary care provider.
• Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and embrace a whole-person care approach.
• Strong commitment to patient-centered care.

Preferred: Experience in primary care for patients with severe mental illness.
