About the role
Mercy Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant, LPN, or EMT/Paramedic to join their team at the Norman location. This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.
Responsibilities
- Completes advanced standard room process including entering chief complaint; taking vital signs; reviewing patient history and allergies; performing medication reconciliation; working the Encounter Guide; assisting with care gap closure; rechecking elevated blood pressures; and completing necessary documentation for yearly preventative visits.
- Administers vaccines and other injections within scope of practice.
- Schedules follow-up appointments according to office policy.
- Collaborates with providers and clinical care team to monitor and coordinate the care plan.
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant: High School Diploma or GED. Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire. Preferred: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office. Certified Medical Assistant: High School Diploma or GED. Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA) or EMT/Paramedic is also accepted. Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- LPN: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program. Active LPN or RN license. Preferred: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, particularly in a primary care office.
