About the role
We’re seeking a hands-on Portfolio Actuary to fuel the growth of our insurance programs. You’ll partner daily with underwriters, program managers, and reinsurance brokers at the heart of our program business. Your main focus will be the pricing and reporting tool used across 13 MGAs extending a wide variety of insurance businesses and products.
Responsibilities
- Rating Tools: Build, maintain, and enhance actuarial pricing tools for multiple products and lines of business. Refine and optimize pricing methodologies to improve profitability and competitiveness.
- Reporting and Monitoring: Create compelling dashboards to track and monitor business performance. Build presentations that “sell” our story to internal stakeholders and external reinsurers.
- Analytics & Automation: Leverage Palantir, Python, SQL, and advanced Excel to streamline processes, automate tasks, and extract actionable insights.
- Data Exploration: Work with large, complex datasets to identify trends, emerging exposures, and business opportunities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage underwriters, claims professionals, program teams, and reinsurance brokers to translate technical analyses into clear business recommendations.
- Process Improvement: Proactively identify and implement efficiency gains across the actuarial workflow.
Qualifications
- ACAS credential with ~5-10 years of P&C pricing experience.
- Solid track record in actuarial pricing, indications, and data analysis.
- Hands-on proficiency in Python and SQL for both modeling and automation.
- Advanced Excel skills (including VBA or macros) to complement your coding toolkit.
- Excellent communicator—skilled at distilling complex analyses into clear business insights.
- Self-starter comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Technology-driven mindset with a passion for modernizing actuarial workflows.
Pay
The base compensation range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of posting. Placement within the range will be based on skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
