About the role

The Pricing Consultant leads pricing development and deal-level profit and loss analysis to ensure competitive market pricing for all core lines of business (LOB) and dozens of supporting solutions. This role interacts with internal senior management, Client Growth Management, Sales, Product, and Finance to incorporate competitive and market pricing, and develops pricing strategies to help win new business and retain existing clients. The position requires collaboration with Credit Unions and banks alongside Sales and Account Management teams, leading discovery and design sessions to align customer pricing with product mix objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultative support for Sales and Client Growth Management teams on services to be utilized, identifying expectations and preferences of pricing element structure.
  • Partner with Business Development to generate price proposals for renewals and net new sales, creating proposals aligned with findings from discovery calls, emails, or CRM entries.
  • Provide pricing guidance for renewals and net new deals, aiming to maximize profit margin while respecting competitive pressures.
  • Develop complex financial analyses, pro forma models, and presentations supporting Client Growth Management with renewals and new business.
  • Present full pricing and incentive proposals, dividends, and value propositions internally and externally as requested.
  • Develop, implement, and manage processes and procedures related to Velera pricing; collaborate with other divisions to secure authorizations.
  • Analyze competitor data on pricing trends.
  • Provide financial analysis, reporting, and modeling for core products and services (Credit, Debit, Billpay, Contact Center Services & Solutions) and select ancillary products (Co-op Network ATM and POS Network, Zelle, and others as commercialized).
  • Drive innovation by developing, testing, and launching new pricing constructs to compete better in the marketplace while adhering to key pricing margins.
  • Manage workflow of the proposal team via queue management, reporting, and centralized email boxes or CRM queues.
  • Serve as a champion for enterprise-wide pricing efforts, ensuring accurate and timely published pricing updates, monitoring historical pricing, collaborating with product teams on emerging trends, and presenting opportunities to adjust pricing methodology annually.
  • Mentor and cross-train Pricing Analysts in partnership with the leadership team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master’s degree in a business discipline preferred.
  • Master’s level degree or other related certification (CPA, CMA, CPCA) preferred.
  • Seven (7) years of business experience in a finance or pricing role, with a clear understanding of pricing theory and economics.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related financial analysis and complex financial modeling/data analysis work, or an equivalent combination of training or experience.
  • Payment industry experience preferred.
  • Experience working in high-performing, cross-functional team environments preferred.
  • Experience with sales automation software preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the underlying high-level function, drivers of revenue/expense, and pricing of all Velera products within card, bill pay, contact center, EFT Network, Network ATM Only, Zelle, and other service lines.
  • Advanced knowledge of pricing analysis, financial model development, database software, data mining, and information extraction.
  • Familiarity with Configure, Price, and Quote (CPQ) – Deal HUB preferred.
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management Software – Salesforce.com preferred.
  • Ability to travel as needed, less than 5%.

Pay

$84,900.00 - $108,200.00. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
