About the role
OASAS Prevention Specialist - Education Program is responsible for developing and implementing prevention education programs aimed at reducing substance abuse among youth and their families.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver prevention education workshops and seminars
- Develop educational materials and resources
- Conduct needs assessments and evaluate program effectiveness
- Maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
- Collaborate with other OASAS staff to integrate prevention strategies into broader initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., social work, public health)
- Experience working with youth and families
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Knowledge of evidence-based prevention strategies
- Experience with grant writing and proposal development
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
