KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, schematics and written technical documents of general machineries to locate area of trouble and complete repairs accurately.
- Repairs and adjusts doors, windows, closures, panic devices and locks.
- Patches holes, installs escutcheons, repairs ceiling and floor tile as needed to maintain building appearance.
- Makes minor masonry and wood repairs.
- Installs pictures, coat hooks, other wall hung furnishings, and equipment as requested.
- Responsible for operating and maintaining specific equipment, conducting surveys and inventories, performing preventive maintenance activities, responding to customer complaints, and repairing equipment.
- Makes daily chemical tests on water systems and adjusts chemical mixtures and feed rates.
- Conducts surveys and inventories of buildings and equipment.
- Enters data into computer systems and databases.
- Maintains records and files; interprets applicable regulations and filing and auditing policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Ensures compliance with applicable regulations, policies and procedures.
- Practices all applicable safety regulations and uses personal protective equipment as required.
- Responds to customer requests and complaints in a timely and appropriate manner; identifies and records need or problem and determines best approach to resolve situation following departmental guidelines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma and two years of experience in building maintenance, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, and general carpentry.
- Working knowledge of computer or mobile applications.
NOTE
Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option.
