About the role

The Case Manager is responsible for managing a caseload of defendants released on Pretrial Release. Duties include conducting interviews, preparing and submitting court ordered release documents, attending court hearings, and coordinating with residential treatment facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Counsels and supervises defendants in adherence to release orders.
  • Attends and testifies in court hearings.
  • Coordinates placement and attendance at residential treatment facilities.
  • Monitors and reports on defendant activity using electronic monitoring systems.
  • Prepares and submits legal documents to judicial officials.
  • Handles confidential information with discretion.
  • Assists with transportation and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in criminal justice or a human services field and one year of experience in case management.
  • Valid North Carolina Driver's License.
  • Preferred: Certification as a Pretrial Service Professional through NAPSA.

  • Ability to handle and process sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to act with sound judgment in routine and emergency situations.
  • Ability to present effective court testimony.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise activity reports.
