Core Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction for the Division of Behavioral Neurology, setting a vision aligned with the broader missions of the Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer’s Disease Center.
  • Oversee division operations including faculty appointments, promotions, performance, and resource stewardship.
  • Partner with the Department Chair, Institute Director, and Medicine clinical leadership on matters of strategy, growth, and integration.
  • Affiliate with faculty in their professional and career development, including ongoing mentoring in clinical, research, and education missions.
  • Support and facilitate integration spanning across the Behavioral Neurology Division.
  • Redesign practices to improve patient outcomes and improve access.
  • Recommend and implement strategic staffing plan, along with executing hiring of new faculty and staff.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain a diverse faculty cohort; foster a culture of academic excellence, and collaboration.
  • Advance opportunities for clinical trials, NIH and foundation funding, and philanthropic investment, while developing greater integration of clinical trials and research including P30 research program.
  • Contribute to the Institute's standing as a NIA-funded Alzheimer's Disease Research Center.
  • Lead and strengthen accredited training programs in behavioral neurology and neuropsychiatry.
  • Mentor fellows, residents, and junior faculty; promote scholarship and career development at all levels.
  • Contribute to graduate and medical education at Feinberg School of Medicine.

Leadership Profile

  • MD or MD/PhD with board certification in Neurology; subspecialty training and expertise in behavioral neurology required.
  • UCNS Diplomate certification in Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry preferred.
  • Distinguished record of scholarship with sustained extramural funding (NIH or equivalent).
  • Proven leadership experience in an academic medical center setting; experience building or significantly advancing a clinical, research, or training program.
  • Commitment to mentorship, faculty development, and equity in academic medicine.
