Responsibilities

• Perform initial visual quality inspections of metal stampings and efficiently package products in appropriate containers to ensure delivery of high-quality parts to both internal and external customers.
• Conduct additional quality checks as required and accurately record inspection data in PLEX (enterprise resource planning system).
• Support general production activities to maintain workflow efficiency and meet production schedules.
• Reference production orders in Plex to weld product per Job Element Sheet (JES).
• Frequently load, unload, lift/move, pull/push, and/or position products and materials weighing up to 60 pounds (assistance provided for heavier objects).
• Perform Press Packing operations involving frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, turning, and lifting.
• Select proper rack or bin to pack parts and/or store parts for the next process.
• Properly pack parts in correct pin/storage container per packaging instructions to meet customer requirements, ensuring proper labeling.
• Use personal computer (PC), Plex system, keyboard, and mouse to complete online work center and operator inspection sheets.
• Visually inspect parts from previous operations per Challenge Manufacturing quality standards to ensure proper form, fit, and function.
• Ensure customer and Challenge Manufacturing quality standards are met per gage instructions, first piece inspection approval, problem containment processes, and quality alerts.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of work area by performing housekeeping duties.
• Perform and cross-train on various work centers as required.
• Complete appropriate paperwork and other documentation (e.g., hourly count boards).
• Meet daily production requirements.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely and effectively perform job duties, including following work instructions, safety procedures, and company communications.
• Six-month manufacturing experience preferred.
• High standards of performance for self; takes responsibility for actions, results, and mistakes.
• Thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks; demonstrates honesty and integrity in all aspects of work.
• Ability to objectively resolve conflict by listening, staying focused on issues, and monitoring progress.

• Ability to frequently lift/move material weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work as a contributing member within a team environment.

Schedule

This is a Z Shift position, working 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM, Friday through Sunday, located at our plant in Kansas City, Missouri.
