About the role

This position involves working 12-hour continental shifts (6 a.m.–6 p.m.) with additional incentives such as a $1.00 per hour perfect attendance bonus and a $1.50 per hour night shift differential.

Responsibilities

  • Stage prepack material in the packing queue in alignment with the shipment schedule.
  • Remove bundles of packed goods from the packing line to the shipping area.
  • Transfer full pre-age material racks from finish saws at the extrusion press to the pre-age queue area and replace them with empty racks.
  • Load finished goods onto trailers/trucks and assist drivers with load positioning.
  • Unload deliveries such as supplies and logs.
  • Manage scrap movement from presses/packing to scrap trailers, ensuring safe and proper loading.
  • Load and unload the age oven and manage queue systems to ensure material is handled per the quality management system.
  • Verify the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries.
  • Label products and place them accordingly.
  • Identify and locate the correct products during the delivery process.
  • Maintain a well-documented and updated account of stock and inventory.
  • Handle returns by completing technical documentation and required communication.
  • Keep all material handling equipment in optimal condition through regular maintenance.
  • Convey purchasing requirements and track availability of products in short supply.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to locate missing packages, correct incorrect deliveries, and replace damaged products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to achieve forklift and crane certifications (prior forklift and side loader experience is a plus).
  • Manufacturing experience in industrial production is strongly preferred.
  • Must be available for nights, weekends, and occasional overtime.
  • Capable of reading and understanding production documents and safety manuals.
  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to comply with all safety policies.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance.
  • Must attend all safety and production trainings.

Essential Physical Functions

  • Ability to work on the production floor with exposure to dust, fumes, odors, loud noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods with frequent stooping, bending, reaching overhead, and sufficient manual dexterity to perform all job aspects.
  • Ability to lift and move parts and equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to work 12-hour shifts primarily standing.
