Press Operator

Responsibilities

• Maintain the equipment and work area while keeping safety and quality the top focus.
• Produce parts on multiple setups and check parts to prints accordingly.
• Operate press machine, nets, snug, assemble painted parts and round pipe.
• Communicate with other operators about work priorities and any issues or shortages to supervisor or lead.
• Interpret blueprints and ensure parts are made within tolerance levels.
• Maintain productivity by following supervisor's specified utilization rates.
• Work with hands and be able to lift or hold heavy items.
• Record work as completed, input Pareto data in LMS, and communicate any operator notes or PCR changes to supervisor or lead.
• Work closely with others as a team player.
• Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and instructions.
• Use Bend Pro 2 software.
• Operate forklift or be trained to operate one.

Qualifications

• No formal education level required.
• Experience running a wide variety of machines with press and the ability to learn new jobs.
• Able to produce parts safely, within tolerances of blueprints, and efficiently.

Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Proficiency in operating press room claimer, entering Pareto data, and accessing on-hand information in Report Manager.
• Ability to work with Bend Pro 2 software.
• Knowledge of forklift operation or ability to be trained.
