Position Summary
The Printing Press Operator is a critical member of the production team, responsible for safely operating offset printing equipment to manufacture high-quality labels that meet customer specifications. This role requires strong technical knowledge of press operations, a commitment to quality, and a focus on efficiency and waste reduction.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all plant and corporate safety policies, procedures, and guidelines. Immediately report safety concerns or incidents to supervision.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area through daily housekeeping.
- Perform press make-ready according to job tickets and product specifications, ensuring correct plates, inks, substrates, tooling, and press settings.
- Operate offset printing press equipment to meet customer specifications while optimizing quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.
- Conduct all required press-side quality checks, including color, copy, registration, ink adhesion, and visual inspection.
- Complete all documentation, procedures, and quality measurements required under BRC and internal quality standards.
- Maintain consistent print quality throughout production runs.
- Accurately and timely enter material usage, downtime, and production data into the GlobeTek system.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, and productivity.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of printing press operator experience or technical training is required.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret job tickets and quality specifications is essential.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive hand and arm motions is necessary.
- Frequent walking; occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required.
- Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.
