Press Operator
Job Summary
Seeking a full-time Offset Press Operator at our NE Portland Facility. This person will operate offset printing presses, improve cost efficiencies, and reduce the probability of error to achieve client satisfaction and create a safe and hazard-free work environment.
Responsibilities
- Examine work orders to determine quantity to print, stock specifications, colors, and special printing instructions.
- Examine plates, ink, and paper for accuracy and/or defects and take appropriate corrective action when needed.
- Make ready and operate Akiyama 6-color 28" press. Often 2-4 make-readies per day.
- Consistently monitor print quality and make any needed adjustments throughout each run.
- Perform proper and required maintenance and cleaning of their press and work area.
Qualifications and Skills
- In-depth knowledge of the mechanics and capabilities of printing presses.
- Specific experience with Akiyama Bestech presses a big plus.
- A craftsman approach.
- The desire, ability, and patience to troubleshoot challenges and ensure consistent quality throughout each press run.
- Experience with small to medium-sized press runs with multiple make-readies each day.
