Press Operator Assistant - 1st Shift

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures
• Attains and maintains all defined job objectives related to the planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes
• Affords assistance in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities (changing from one label job to another)
• Affords assistance in the performance of all external clean-up activities following changeover
• Cleans ink pans and ancillary equipment
• Assists in locating dies to and from press
• May be required to work with press operator to view labels with assistance of strobe light
• Complies with quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC
• Completes quality assurance sheet and associated documentation
• Responsible for cleanliness of machinery and organization of the workspace
• Responsible for working overtime when needed and as assigned
• Related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Print shop experience helpful, but not required
• Ability to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and written form); seen as a team player
• Ability to read and understand a job ticket
• Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test)
• Ability correctable to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test)
• Ability to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test)
• Ability to input data in the computer
• Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activities
• Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions
• Ability to stand and move around press area for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
