Press Operator 2 - Flexographic Press - 2nd Shift (Contingent)
About the role
This position is responsible for setting up, adjusting, operating, and maintaining a number of press equipment. You will perform all make-ready tasks associated with the Flexographic press, including mounting plates or installing print cylinders, examining plates/cylinders for imperfections, checking for correct positioning of images, prepping web paths, adjusting tension and register, and making necessary color corrections and anilox adjustments prior to production runs to meet quality specifications.
You will also clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, perform minor repairs, replace worn or broken parts, and carry out periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.
Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain Flexographic press equipment.
- Perform make-ready tasks such as mounting plates, installing print cylinders, and checking image positioning.
- Examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and ensure correct setup.
- Prepare web paths, adjust tension and register, and perform color corrections.
- Make anilox adjustments and press adjustments to meet quality specifications before production runs.
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press; perform minor repairs and replace worn or broken parts.
- Conduct periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of Flexographic printing procedures, materials, specifications, equipment, and safety requirements.
- Ability to read and understand job specifications and determine the most appropriate press usage, settings, and materials.
- Skill in making precise web paths and adjustments, and performing routine operational maintenance.
- Ability to perform routine operational maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Google) preferred.
- Experience with Mark Andy, Aquaflex, Comco, Webtron, Gallus, or Nil Peter presses preferred.
Pay
The pay range for this role is $28.00 to $42.00 per hour. The actual rate of pay may vary based on education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. Total compensation may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
