Press Lead Operator

About the role

UTEX Industries is a leading manufacturer of engineered sealing solutions serving the oil and gas, industrial, and petrochemical markets. This role combines advanced press operation responsibilities with department leadership duties to help drive safety, quality, productivity, and team development.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate injection, compression, and alternate press equipment
• Support daily production schedules and department workflow
• Train and cross-train employees within the Press Department
• Aid supervisors with day-to-day production oversight
• Troubleshoot equipment and support minor maintenance activities
• Maintain accurate production and material records
• Support safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement efforts
• Lead by example in safety, attendance, teamwork, and productivity

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (experience may substitute)
• 6+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
• Previous lead, mentoring, or leadership experience preferred
• Experience operating press equipment in a manufacturing environment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Basic computer, math, and communication skills
• Forklift experience or ability to become certified preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an industrial environment requiring PPE

Schedule

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
