Press Break Operator
About the role
The Production department within Mission Critical Group (MCG) is responsible for the fabrication of raw materials to manufacture quality Mission Critical Group products in a timely manner. The overall objective of the Press Break Operator 1 position is to engage in all activities concerned with producing parts by operating a CNC machine and ensure that jobs are completed and shipped as scheduled while meeting our quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Support the effort to be a best-in-class manufacturer through the fabrication of high-quality products that exceed our clients’ expectations by operating either the Punch Press or Break Press machines to cut holes or bend materials as needed for the fabrication of our products.
- Retrieve the punch list, parts list, and applicable CNC programs to create parts as needed per job.
- Locate and move or pull raw sheet metal material as described by the parts list per job.
- Loading materials onto the machine in preparation for punch or break and safely securing materials on the machine with the use of clamps, fingers or other fixtures.
- Selecting die clearance, punches, tools, or other attachments needed to complete projects based on the specifications of the materials; Install and align them as needed to ensure optimal performance.
- Cooking with the CNC Foremen to develop the skills and learn how to operate both machines.
- Maintain a safe, clean, well-organized work area.
- Perform necessary side operations during machine cycle time as required.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of sheet metal fabrication or CNC operator experience.
- Excellent mechanical skills and aptitude in supporting CNC sheet metal equipment, the ability to visualize 3D parts from cut sheets.
- Good math skills and qualified basic computer skills.
- Self-motivated and able to identify, examine, and resolve issues independently from others.
- A strong regard for guidelines, procedures, and integrity.
- A 97% attendance rate with minimal tardiness.
- Positive feedback from team leaders or operators on responsiveness and attitude.
- Actively contribute at least one improvement idea per quarter.
- Zero safety violations or incidents; full adherence to PPE and safety protocol.
