Press Brake Operator - Weekends

About the Role

Operate machines to produce high-quality sheet metal products according to specifications. Perform fabricating operations, including manual positioning of work, aligning layout marks to dies, and changing dies as required. Make necessary adjustments to machines per order specifications and inspect work for conformance using tools like rules, squares, or templates.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines to ensure the highest quality of production.
• Perform fabricating operations of sheet metal products according to specifications.
• Position work manually and align layout marks to dies, including changing dies as required per order specifications.
• Make adjustments and alignments on machines per order specifications.
• Inspect work for conformance to job specifications using rule, square, or templates.
• Review daily manufacturing functions and job orders to ensure awareness of requirements.
• Obtain necessary materials and tools to achieve expected run rates.
• Ensure the safe operation of equipment.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Report any problems affecting safety, equipment, tooling, or quality to supervisor/lead/manager immediately.
• Maintain full working knowledge of all processes.
• Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
• Conduct yourself in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Two plus years of experience in a relevant manufacturing setting.
• Recent Press Brake and Press Brake Set-up experience.
• Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to execute in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment requiring strong teamwork.
• Understanding of tools, gages, equipment, and instruments used in the position.
• Basic ability to understand blueprints, schematics, and instrumentation diagrams.
• Skill in performing accurate arithmetic functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using decimals, percentages, fractions, and ratios.
• Basic mechanical principles of machine setups, operations, and materials.
• General knowledge of sheet metal fabricating and assembly practices.
• Some knowledge of programming for machine operation and calibration.
