Position Summary
The President & CEO serves as the chief executive officer of the Petroleum Association of Wyoming and is responsible for carrying out the mission and strategic direction established by the Association’s 36-member Board of Directors.
Government Affairs & Advocacy
- Serve as PAW’s chief advocate before the Wyoming Legislature and U.S. Congress
- Act as primary liaison to Wyoming’s Congressional delegation
- Develop relationships with elected officials and regulatory agencies
- Develop and execute legislative and regulatory strategies
- Prepare testimony, policy papers, and advocacy materials
- Maintain oversight of legislation, rulemaking, and emerging issues
- Cook staff engagement on advocacy initiatives
- Build coalitions and educate policymakers
Public Relations & Member Engagement
- Maintain communication with members
- Support committee activities
- Recruit new members
- Serve as media spokesperson
- Deliver industry presentations
- Maintain relationships with regional and national organizations
Executive Leadership & Operations
- Work closely with the Management Committee and Board
- Develop and manage the annual budget
- Oversee financial reporting
- Supervise staff and operations
- Manage assets and outside professional services
Affiliated Organizations
- Wyoming Petroleum Foundation: Ex officio board member; lead fundraising and oversee resources.
- Rockies Petroleum Leadership Council: Voting board member; co-manage Rockies Petroleum Conference.
- Wyoming Carbon Innovation Network: Staff liaison; coordinate meetings, programming, and member engagement.
Qualifications
- Government relations, lobbying, or public affairs experience
- Leadership and coalition-building
- Staff management
- Oil and natural gas industry knowledge preferred
