Preserve and Park Research Assistant - P. Bocko [Work Study]

This position allows for remote work.

  • Percentage of time that could be remote: 50%
  • Method to assess remote work: Staff meetings every other week, monitoring the nature preserve and implementation of a park research project

About the Role

The assistant will support management of the Horatio Colony Nature Preserve. Preserve duties include upkeep of cabin (2 hours) and upkeep of signage and supplies at the trailhead kiosk (2 hours).

Responsibilities

The most significant part of the position is the design, implementation, analysis, and documentation of a field research project at the Ashuelot River Park with a focus on collecting data to inform the possible removal or repair of a dam in the Ashuelot River (11 hours).

Qualifications

  • Land management and field research experience is a plus.
  • Experience in education is helpful.
  • Willingness to learn is the most important qualification.
