About the role

California Weekly Explorer is known for its innovative approach to making history fun for elementary school students through interactive presentations. As an Educational Performer, you will engage students in their grade-level history curriculum, guiding them through time and fostering a love for learning.

Job Responsibilities

• Complete intensive training including memorizing and delivering three engaging scripts, each lasting approximately 2 1/2 hours.
• Present solo, interacting with students in classrooms ranging from 18 to 36 in number.
• Transport and set up/display equipment each day, ensuring all necessary items fit in a standard-sized vehicle.
• Travel to different schools within a large calendar area, covering approximately 3-5 weekly trips per school year.
• Manage all travel arrangements and preparations, including filling out monthly expense reports and evaluations.
• Work a 5-day a week set calendar with a high work ethic, showing dedication and resilience.

Requirements

• A positive and fun personality, adaptable to various situations.
• A can-do attitude, ready to solve problems and work independently.
• Strong social, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience in teaching or performance, with classroom management and improvisation abilities.
• Physical, mental, and emotional health to handle the demanding schedule.
• A reliable car suitable for carrying all required equipment.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean background check.

Perks

• Salary position, $4,000/month (after completion of training), through June 15.
• Paid training rate of $140/day for the initial 10-12 day training period.
