About the role
California Weekly Explorer is seeking a full-time Educational Performer (Teacher / Presenter) to engage students in history lessons through interactive presentations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education, enjoy working with children, and have a knack for making learning fun.
Job Responsibilities
- Present three scripts in highly engaging manner, up to two presentations a day, each 2 1/2 hours in length.
- Interact with students in a classroom setting of up to 36 students per presentation.
- Transport and set up/tear down display equipment each day.
- Travel to different schools within a large calendar area, typically 5-6 times per school year.
- Manage all travel arrangements and preparations.
- Fill out monthly expense reports and evaluations of schools.
Requirements
- Positive and fun personality, adaptable to various situations.
- Can-do attitude, problem-solving skills, and strong social, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Experience in teaching or performance, with classroom management and improvisation skills a plus.
- Physical, mental, and emotional health to handle the demanding schedule.
- A reliable car to transport equipment and a valid driver's license.
- Background check clearance.
Perks
- Salary position, $4,000/month (after completion of training).
- Paid training rate of $140/day for initial 10-12 day training period.
- Full-time/seasonal, October through mid-June; summer's off (not paid).
