About the role
California Weekly Explorer is known for its "Walk Through Presentations," which engage students in their grade level history curriculum. As an Educational Performer, you'll guide students through time, host a friendly competition, and make learning fun.
Job Responsibilities
- Complete intensive training including memorizing and dynamically presenting three scripts in an engaging manner.
- Present and teach solo, including transporting and setting up/displaying equipment each day.
- Travel to different schools within a large calendar area, driving each day to a different location.
- Attend staff meetings at our Tustin office and make 3-5 weekly trips outside your calendar area.
- Manage all travel arrangements and preparations, fill out reports, and maintain a professional demeanor.
Requirements
- Positive and fun personality, adaptable to various situations.
- Can-do attitude, problem-solving skills, and strong social, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Experience in teaching or performance, classroom management, and improvisation.
- Physical, mental, and emotional health to handle the demanding schedule.
- A reliable car and valid driver's license.
- Pass a DOJ background check.
Perks
- Salary position, $4,000/month (after completion of training) through June 15.
- Paid training rate of $140/day for initial 10-12 day training period.
- Full-time/seasonal, October through mid-June; summer's off (not paid).
