Presenter Teacher Performer

About the role

California Weekly Explorer is seeking a full-time Educational Performer (Teacher / Presenter) to engage students in their grade level history curriculum through interactive presentations. This role involves making history come alive for students, traveling to different schools, and providing a fun and educational experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Leverage intensive training to memorize and present three scripts in an engaging manner, up to two presentations a day, each lasting 2 1/2 hours.
• Interact with students in classrooms ranging from 24 to 36, including those with disabilities.
• Transport and set up/display equipment each day, ensuring a one-person show.
• Travel to staff meetings and make 3-5 weekly trips outside your calendar area.
• Manage equipment storage and utilize an online calendar system.
• Complete monthly expense reports and evaluations of schools.

Requirements

• Positive and fun personality, adaptable to various situations.
• Can-do attitude, problem-solving skills, and strong social and organizational abilities.
• Teaching or performance experience, classroom management, and improvisation skills are beneficial.
• Able to work independently, maintain a high work ethic, and handle unexpected challenges.
• A reliable car, valid driver's license, and a clean background check.
