About the role
California Weekly Explorer is seeking a full-time Educational Performer (Teacher / Presenter) to engage students in their grade level history curriculum through interactive presentations. This role involves making history come alive for students, traveling to different schools, and providing a fun and educational experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Leverage intensive training to memorize and present three scripts in an engaging manner, up to two presentations a day, each lasting 2 1/2 hours.
- Interact with students in classrooms ranging from 20 to 36, accommodating students with disabilities.
- Manage classroom logistics, including setting up and tearing down display equipment.
- Travel to staff meetings and make 3-5 weekly trips outside your calendar area.
- Utilize an online Company calendar system for managing school information and daily itineraries.
- Handle all travel arrangements and prepare for performances.
- Complete monthly expense reports and evaluations of schools.
Requirements
- A positive and fun personality, adaptable to various situations.
- A can-do attitude and problem-solving skills.
- A strong social, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience in teaching or performance.
- Classroom management and improvisation abilities are a plus.
- Able to work independently and adhere to Company policies.
- Physical, mental, and emotional health to handle the demanding schedule.
- A reliable car suitable for carrying all equipment.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean background check.
Pay & Benefits
Salary position, $4,200/month (after completion of training) through June 15. Paid training rate of $140/day for initial 10-12 day training period and subsequent 6-8 days additional training. Medical benefits for individual employee paid in full for selected Company plans - family plans not available. Paid school holidays including two weeks paid winter break (for fully trained presenters).
