About the role
California Weekly Explorer is seeking a full-time Educational Performer (Teacher / Presenter) for the 2026/2027 school season. The role involves engaging students in their grade level history curriculum through interactive presentations and competitions.
Job Responsibilities
- Leverage history to make learning fun for students in classrooms up to 36 in a presentation.
- Present three scripts in a highly engaging manner, up to two presentations a day, each 2 1/2 hours long.
- Interact with students and handle classroom management and improvisation.
- Travel to different schools within a large calendar area, taking 3-5 weekly trips outside your calendar area.
- Manage equipment storage and transportation, utilizing an online Company calendar system for daily itineraries.
- Attend staff meetings in Southern California office, which may involve travel.
- Complete intensive training including memorizing and presenting three scripts, with additional training sessions.
Requirements
- Positive and fun personality, adaptable to various situations.
- Can-do attitude, problem-solving skills, and strong social and communication abilities.
- Teaching or performance experience, with classroom management and improvisation skills.
- A reliable standard size car to transport equipment, a valid driver’s license, and a clean DOJ background check.
- Good physical, mental, and emotional health, with the ability to manage stress and perform under pressure.
Perks
- Salary position, $4,200/month (after completion of training) through June 15.
- Paid training rate of $140/day for initial 10-12 day training period and subsequent 6-8 days additional training.
- Full-time/seasonal, October through mid-June; summer's off (not paid).
